2025 Provident Scholarship

Provident Credit Union offers two scholarships for Provident members: one for those seeking a California teaching credential, and one for graduating high school seniors entering college in the fall of 2025.

Provident Teaching Credential Scholarship 

The 2025 California Teaching Credential Scholarship is a one-time award of up to $5,000 for Provident Credit Union members interested in obtaining their California teaching credential and have already completed their baccalaureate degree or are in their final undergraduate term.

To qualify, applicants must:

• Be a fully engaged Provident Credit Union member for the past twelve months
• Have a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 or higher
• Be accepted in the education department of an accredited university or college for the coming year and enrolled prior to the disbursement of scholarship funds
• Have a college major in a field commonly taught in the schools of California

Teaching Scholarship

Provident College Scholarship

The 2025 Provident College Scholarship is a $2,000 to $5,000 per year, four-year renewable scholarship for graduating high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in a college, community college, or university for the 2025 Fall semester/quarter.

To qualify, applicants must:

• Be a member of Provident Credit Union, with their own Credit Union account and their parent, grandparent or guardian must have been a fully engaged Provident member for the past five years
• Have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher
• Plan to enroll in a university, college or community college for the fall 2025 semester/quarter
• Select a college major in financial services, business, accounting, marketing, communications, computer science, liberal arts, or other related fields
