Building a Greener Future Together

At Provident Credit Union, we believe in strengthening communities through connection, compassion, and service. That’s why we were proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley at their Sequoia Grove development in Hayward.

Located on a long-vacant, tree-lined lot on A Street, Sequoia Grove is being transformed into a vibrant and affordable Zero Net Energy neighborhood. Once completed, it will provide 10 families with the opportunity to achieve homeownership in a healthy, energy-efficient environment. These families, many of whom have been priced out of the housing market, will now have the chance to build stability and plant deep roots in the Hayward community.

Sequoia Grove is Habitat’s greenest project yet, featuring universal EV charging infrastructure, induction cooktops, heat-pump systems, and battery backup storage. The homes are designed not only to be affordable but also to promote long-term energy security and sustainability.

We are especially grateful to our dedicated team of Provident employees—Roshika Chand, Ben Gomez, Kris Maharaj, Karla Mallory, Jaclyn Johnson, Nate Sanchez, Shalini Narayan, and Dylan Ochoa—who generously volunteered their time and talents to help bring these homes to life. Thank you for living out our values and making a meaningful difference in the community.

At Provident, we are proud to support efforts that help build more than homes. We help build hope and opportunity.
