Provident SJSU Student Organization Grants

In 2021, Provident Credit Union launched a student organization grant program to award $500 scholarships to student organizations for the use of fulfilling their education or community awareness objective. The program started with just USF in 2021, where we awarded five different student organizations the scholarship grant. This year, Provident has expanded the program to include SJSU.

At a recent ceremony, Provident, represented by Joshua Melander, Business Development Manager and Talal Shami, SJSU Student Spirit Ambassador, awarded the scholarship grant to two SJSU student organizations that have either made a significant impact in their community or have made advancements in education, cultural or social responsibility and awareness.
  • Active Minds - A mental health advocacy group aimed to destigmatize the stigma surrounding mental health among the college aged demographic.
  • Chi Pi Sigma – A criminal Justice co-ed fraternity that looks to provide opportunities for professional, social, and educational development for our members
