Can Restrict Access by User* | Can Restrict by Account** |
---|---|---|---|
Accounts |
The business decides which accounts users can see and interact with. If the user is given account access, this includes:
For any page the user has access to where the user can select or see accounts, only the accounts the user is allowed to see will be listed. Accounts can also be hidden or restricted separately for some features (see below). |
||
Statement and Notices |
Only the business has access to statement and notices; other users do not. This page includes PDFs that combine information for several accounts, and can therefore not be restricted on an account-by-account basis. So, to ensure that users aren’t seeing more than the business has given them access to see, the entire page is restricted. |
||
e-Deposit |
The business determines which of its users are authorized to deposit checks into the accounts they can view. |
||
Text Banking |
The business determines which of its users are authorized to access the text banking page. This gives them the ability to add or delete phone numbers, and to enable accounts for text banking. Users will only see phone numbers there that have been added through the User ID they sign on with. They will also only see (and access through text banking) the accounts on that page that the business allows them to see. |
||
Stop Payments |
The business determines which of its users are authorized to stop payments on checks written from the accounts they have access to. |
||
Check Ordering |
Only the business has access to online check ordering; other users do not. |
Cannot restrict by user |
Cannot restrict by user |
Alerts |
Each user of the business can access and set their own deposit and loan alerts to be sent to their personal phone number or email address. Users cannot set up alerts for accounts that they do not have access to. |
||
Profile Settings |
Each user of the business can access and edit their own User ID, password, contact info, etc. |
||
Secure Messages |
All users of the business have individual inboxes, and the messages they send are not visible to other users. Users may only inquire about accounts to which they have been granted access. |
||
Overdrafts |
The business determines which of its users can access and manage overdraft sources. Both Overdraft Transfer Protection and Courtesy Pay Overdraft require all source accounts to be visible, regardless of account-level view access, but the balances are not shown. If the business doesn’t want a user to be aware of the name or existence of one or more accounts, they should not grant that user access to overdrafts. |
||
Manage Users |
The business can grant any user the ability to manage any of the other users. This ability means the user can:
Note that if the user is granted the right to manage users, they can also grant this right to other users. |
||
Password Reset and User ID Reminder |
All users of the business can:
|
||
Bill Pay |
The business determines which of its users can access Bill Pay. There is also separate control over whether the user can:
Note: Account level restrictions affect the ability to create new payments or edit existing payments. It does not affect the ability to see payments that are already submitted, and the accounts that are the sources of those payments. |
||
Transfers |
The business determines which of its users can make transfers and view transfer activity. In addition, there are additional controls to determine if the user:

Mobile Banking |
All users of the business can access mobile banking with the same permissions they have in desktop online banking. There is no provision for the accountholder to restrict certain users from using online banking. |
** “Can Restrict by Account” means that the business can allow the user to access that particular feature for some accounts but not others.
