Credit Card Controls

The new Credit Card Controls for your Provident cards are fully customizable and give you peace of mind in the event that your credit card is lost, stolen or misplaced.

Credit Card Controls (Existing)
  • Turn Card Off/On – Change the status of your credit card to allow or block transactions.
  • Transaction Limits – Block transactions based on a limit set by you.
  • International Transactions – Block transactions that occur outside of the U.S., including online purchases.

  • Transactions/Merchant Type – Block transactions based on type of transactions or merchant.
  • Spend Limit – Monthly spend limits.

  • Time of Day Range – Block transactions that occur during a specific time of day.

Credit Card Alerts

The new Credit Card Alerts for your Provident cards are fully customizable and allow you to stay informed on your transaction activity. When an alert is triggered, you will be sent an email or text message in real-time advising you of the available transaction information.

Credit Card Alerts (Existing)
  • International Transactions – Notifications for face to face and online transactions occurring at merchants outside of the U.S.
  • Large Transactions – Notifications for transactions based on a limit set by you.

Credit Card Alerts being added on March 20th, 2023
  • Transactions/Merchant Type – Notifications for blocked transactions based on type of transaction or merchant.
  • Spend Limit – Notifications when your card account passes a set monthly spending limit.

Credit Card Alerts being removed on March 20th, 2023
  • Time of Day Range – Notifications on transactions that occur during a specific time of day.
  • Designated States – Notifications on transactions that occur outside of designated states.
  • Declined Transactions – Notifications on transactions that are declined.
  • Balance Alerts – Notifications when your balance is within specified amount of available credit, balance is over available credit or balance transfer is initiated.
  • Payment Alerts – Notifications when your payment is due within selected amount of days or when payment is past due.

Important

To ensure a smooth transition, you should remove any Credit Card Alert and Control settings you currently have set by March 19th, 2023. Once the update is complete on March 20th, 2023, you will be able to add new alerts to your card within the updated service. Please note, any control settings that are not removed by March 19th, 2023 will remain on your card until March 30th, 2023 unless you call us at (800) 632-4600 or send us a secure message to request removal. 

Please note that once you set-up your credit card alerts and controls, future text notifications will come from “66368” and emails will come from donotreply@ondotsystems.com. It is advised to add this short text number to your contacts to ensure you know these notifications are coming from Provident.
