Age 12-17 Summer Art Contest Winners

"My Favorite California Landscape" or "My Favorite Animal"

First Place - Isaac, Age 15. "The great white shark is a majestic creature that dwells in our oceans, specifically in cooler waters near the coasts. They are highly misunderstood creatures, with lots of humans thinking they’re ferocious creatures attacking anything in sight. But in reality, they only prey on schools of fish, rays, and some bigger marine animals such as seals. To get to their prey easily, they often stay near these schools of fish for easier access to food. So us humans don’t need to worry about sharks hunting us for food!"
Prize:  $200 Youth Certificate

Second Place - Carlia, Age 16. "A 14x11 landscape painting depicting the scenery of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge on a clear sunny day! Created with acrylic paint on a canvas."
Prize: $100 Youth Certificate

Third Place - Grace, Age 13. "Grace’s favorite animals. A horse and a giraffe. A giraffe in a sunset background. A Horse in a hill background."
Prize: $50 Youth Certificate
