National Disability Independence Day

National Disability Independence Day

July 26th is National Disability Independence Day and commemorates the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) 31 years ago. The ADA provides protection from employment discrimination as well as better access to goods, services, and communications for people with disabilities.

Provident Credit Union is committed to providing accessible services for our members both online and in our branches for all members. Below are a few services we provide:
  • We offer our members guideline/raised-line checks, which are larger (8 1/8" by 3") with embossed guidelines that are easy to feel.
  • We can arrange an appointment with a qualified sign language interpreter at your local branch.
  • All Provident ATMs are speech enabled. Members can use standard headphone (1/8 -inch jack) to hear the screen displayed information.
  • We accept all telecommunication relay service calls.
  • We are continuously enhancing our website to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 AA requirements.
