Bouncing a check or not having enough money in a checking account to cover a purchase is something we all want to avoid. The best way to do this is good account management, but sometimes, mistakes happen. Provident understands this and we offer many safeguards to aid you in preventing overdrafts, and the fees and hassles that come along with them.
Free Overdraft Protection:1
- Automatic transfers from your Provident savings account, another checking account, or a money market account.
- Automatic charge to your Provident Visa® card2,3
- Automatic charge to your VIP Line of Credit
These options are pre-designated by you. You can choose which accounts to use and the order from which they are drawn. If you have not already done so or would like to change your options, call us at (650) 508-0300 or (800) 632-4600.
Courtesy Pay—Another Option:
- Serves as a safety net if other overdraft options are not available
- Provident can pay overdrafts up to your established Courtesy Pay limit if your account is in good standing
- There is a fee assessed for each Courtesy Pay transaction4
- You are only charged the fee when Courtesy Pay is used
