Position Description

This position is directly responsible for the sale and servicing of alternative investment products and insurance products available to members of Provident Credit Union and non-members through an agreement with an outside broker/dealer. Position is commission plus benefits.

Specific Job Duties

  1. Provide investment and insurance advice to members of the credit union
  2. Perform investment and insurance product analysis
  3. Perform daily sales activities such as generating new sales appointments and making follow-up calls to credit union members and select employee groups
  4. Follow-up on all leads provided by credit union staff
  5. Partner with credit union business development staff to generate additional leads and provide value added to the credit union’s offerings
  6. Liaise with branch management and staff to generate leads and integrate activities with credit union initiatives
  7. Prepare and present educational seminars as part of the credit union’s annual comprehensive financial seminar schedule
  8. Provide educational sessions to branch staff to educate them on the member benefits available as part of the credit union’s financial planning and insurance services
  9. Attend and participate in monthly sales meetings
  10. Make suggestions for generating additional leads and improving the marketing and success of the overall investment program
  11. Perform all administrative duties associated with the sales process
  12. Comply with all aspects of regulations as set forth by the NASD/SEC and other policies, procedures and business practices required by the broker/dealer

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelors degree preferred
  2. Two years of hands-on insurance and investment product sales experience, preferably with a current book of business
  3. Demonstrated sales production track record
  4. Demonstrated customer service skills
  5. Demonstrated sales prospecting ability
  6. Superior written and oral communication skills
  7. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  8. Demonstrated expertise with financial planning and investment research software
  9. Working knowledge of:
    • SEC Rules And Regulations
    • Government Regulations As They Pertain To Selling Financial Products And Services
  10. Must have SEC Series 7, 63, and a life license
  11. Ability to communicate clearly and with purpose
